The Fraunhofer Institute for Environmental, Safety and Energy Technology, UMSICHT, Institute Division Sulzbach-Rosenberg, is currently testing cyclone firing systems with digested residues. That concerns a specific firing technology, which is particularly suitable for biogenic residues and is applied where standard firing systems would fail.

“By these experimental tests we hope to gain first of all credible knowledge about the operating behavior of green fuel as well as on emission values”, says David Friedländer, project engineer at Spanner Re². Digested residues are increasingly relevant here as applying the same over the fields is becoming more and more restricted. In order to counteract possible negative fuel properties also additives were applied supplementary to loose digested residues to minimize slagging of the fuel.
