Ten Spanner Re² Biomass CHPs, including peripherals, will be installed at a major corporation towards the end of this year. In partnership with the Japanese subsidiary Spanner KK, Spanner Re² is pushing forward with another major project for power and heat generation based on wood gas in East Asia.

Germany, Neufahrn i. NB. Spanner Re² manufactures and sells highly efficient Biomass plants that generate electricity and heat from wood according to the principle of combined heat and power (CHP). The patented technology supplies energy worldwide, independent of weather conditions and fuelled only by wood chips, pellets or briquettes.

Spanner Re² sees itself as a holistic supplier in the wood gasification industry and provides its customers with complete systems that have proven themselves. The portfolio of the medium-sized company ranges from fully automatic wood chip drying plants, conveyor and discharge systems to multiple plants - so-called wood power cascades - and pre-installed container solutions (EnergyBlock). Spanner Re² GmbH has established itself as one of the leading manufacturers of wood-based CHP plants both for individual plants and for the realisation of large-scale projects.

"Our customer wants to further expand its added value and generate energy sustainably and economically. Which is exactly what our Biomass solutions will do while also contributing with our many years of experience in project planning," Seiler continues.

Towards the end of the year, ten wood-fired power plants with a total output of 490 kWel and around 1.1 MWth will be installed in Japan, as well as coordinated conveying and discharge technology and fully automatic wood chip dryers. Moving forward, the large corporation will use the heat generated to supply several greenhouses on site. The electricity will be fed into the public grid in return for payment.

Compared to a single large-scale plant, multiple Re² plants generate energy throughout, as maintenance work can be carried out in parallel. Also, no expensive service calls are necessary for this, as the maintenance work can be carried out 100 percent in-house, even on the series-produced engines. Thanks to the modular design of the wood-power plants, the system can also be easily expanded to include additional plants and adapted to the customer's requirements should these change.
